Company History - InTech Publishing was first established in 1995 by Charles Flowers and started out as an online eBook publishing company and web design company. This was around the time that Amazon.com started. We spoke with the founder and owner on many occasions as both of our companies were in the book business and marketing strategies were discussed. Amazon was in the mail order hardbound and we were developing eBook publishing and delivery.
But in 1995 the eBook concept was a little ahead of its time, eBooks did not come into their own until around 2004-2005 with the introduction of the Kindle and Nook eBook Readers. An important addition to this eBook reader line up, is the introduction of the Apple IPad. The IPad is going to change the eBook game quite a bit as it will enable website published books to be view and read without having to have proprietary devices like the Kindle. The proprietary devices require you to buy the eBooks from them in order for you to read them on their device.
In 2007 InTech Publishing conceived designed and developed the first online eMagazine in Ellis County which was the
Waxahachie Journal. This was a completely digital publication with integrated graphics and video and which today enjoys a regular readership numbering in the tens of thousands from all across the US and foreign 46 countries.
