Update January 2012
As I drove by the Park, I noticed that the City is putting another vintage looking fence up at Kimmel Park. Hats off to the City! This new fence is going to give the park that old park ambiance that so many of our locals enjoy about this wonderful little park.
Christmas Parade Midlothian

Got home to night just in time to see the Midlothian 2011 Christmas Parade.The Parade started down by the 8th street bridge and passed in front of our house. My wife, myself, three cats and a small dog thoroughly enjoyed the parade. Parade lasted about 45 min to and hour and was lots of fun.

Drove by the Kimmel Park today and noticed that something of was missing. The FENCE! The old fence had been removed. That is sad as that old fence was vintage and has probably been at the park 70 or 80 years! I know it was worn and bent in some places but it sure gave the old park that, well old park look!

What Happen to 8th St.
Was talking to a friend the other day and she started asking me why 8th street looks like it is only half done. And that when she looked at the original proposal, it had a four-lane boulevard and four-lane bridge!
